Prosper Pièrre-Louis 1947-1997
is a Haitian born in Bainet, near Jacmel.
One of the main contributors of the Saint Soleil art movement.
He was one of the Cinq Soleil (five Suns: Levoy Exil, Louisiane Saint Fleurant, Dieuseul Paul, Denis Smith) art movement. These artists had branched out of the Saint Soleil movement. He died in 1997 of an asthma attack.

Michele Manuel
1935 –2022
Manuel was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Influenced at an early age by her father, she later studied under Jonu Pierre-Noel, an American painter who specialized in the human figure. After studying with Cerroni at the Academy of Drawing and Painting in Puerto Rico and the Rochester Memorial Art Gallery one of her pieces, “The Market” was selected to represent a Haitian postage stamp. Her work has been exhibited in Haiti, America, and throughout Europe and South America. She is a member of the group Women Painters.
